Review: Blazing Sangria Vs. Ruby Woo

11 May

Two lipsticks I hoped would be dupes, but alas, were not. I’m afraid nothing will ever be such a perfect red for me as MAC’s Ruby Woo. Still, I bought L’oreal’s Infallible Le Rouge in Blazing Sangria with high hopes that I wouldn’t have to work so hard to apply my depotted Ruby Woo. As you can see from the swatches, it looks like I will be carrying around my depotted RW and lip brush… probably forever.

BS and RW

Blazing Sangria is sheerer and shinier than Ruby Woo, with less staying power. Plus, they are completely different shades of red, so a no-go on the dupe front. Ruby Woo is a matte formula, so if you’re not careful with prep work, your lips could be more chapped than… well, you get the picture. Exfoliate and moisturize before application. In this throwdown, who wins?

They really are completely different, but since I bought it hoping for a dupe, I will have to side with MAC on this one.

Ruby Woo is still the best red for me, and Blazing Sangria will be going back to the bin at Wally World.
